Internship at Nuclear Power Corporation Of India Ltd.
I had a Brilliant opportunity to work closely with the team handling the electrical station at the Nuclear power corporation of India Ltd.
I assisted on testing the functionality of 3 different types of transformers:
1) Generator Transformer(GT)
2) Unit Transformer(UT)
3) Startup Transformer(SUT)
Each transformer type was tested or its rating, percentage impedance, vector group, designed frequency and cooling system.
I also worked under Relay testing unit where every relay was tested before it was deployed for industrial use.
We used Omicron make CMC-36 relay test kit to test following types of relays:
1) Distance protection
2) Generator Protection
3)Feeder Protection
4)Transformer Protection.
The relays used in NPCIL was:
1. MICOM-P-220 For motor Protection.
2. MICOM-P-122 For feeder Protection.
3. CTMM Static relay for Motor protection.
4. Electromagnetic & Static relays ( e.g. DTH-32, PVM-164 etc.) for generator protection.
5. CDG/ CAG type electromagnetic, EE make relays.
